In February 2005, the then-President of the Republic of Ireland, Mary Robinson, addressed a joint session of the Irish Congress (Oireachtas) on the subkect of the Irish diaspora. Liam Ferrie's Irish Emigrant was, as usual, one of the first to propagate this news to the diaspora (myself included), and with permission, I produced a HTML version of it.
However, the original is now online at this location on the Oireachtas website, so there is no need for my initial, crude, 1995 vintage HTML version thereof. Please go read the original, especially if you have an interest in the diaspora, or are one of us.
