IMPORTANT STUFFBack in 1994 I attended what was then called "The WWW/Mosaic Conference" at the Open Systems World/FedUNIX conference held in Washington, DC. One of the presentations at that conference was by Peter Banks of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. He specifically asked that people publicize via WWW the information on The Missing Children Database as widely as possible. I've been doing so ever since then (14 years and counting!). I have no idea how many people have followed the link above, but if even one child was found as a result of this plug for their web site, it will have been well worth it. Please consider putting a link to the missing-kids.com web server on your page too. All you have to do is include this:
somewhere (preferably prominently) in the HTML source for your page(s). A child somewhere may thank you for it someday. |
